This interview with Nikki Jayne came out on May 27, 2009 2009 from the Liverpool Echo

SHE spent her childhood years serving up tea in her local church hall in Wigan. But now [she's] serving up sex as one of the biggest stars in LA’s adult film industry.

Using the name Nikki Jayne, the 23-year-old from Beech Hill has made six porn films.

She says: “Me and my friends used to run the tea club at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Springfield.

“I loved going to church when I was younger and I’m still religious and spiritual now.

“I had no idea then I would be doing what I am – but just because I do porn doesn’t mean I’m not a nice person.”

It’s a far cry from the career of fitness trainer which Samantha used to have in England, but as she celebrates her first year in Los Angeles this month, she has no regrets.

Speaking from the mansion in which she lives, overlooking the rolling Beverly Hills, Samantha is delighted with her new job and her luxurious lifestyle: “I’m just a really big dreamer, I’ve always had really big dreams and that’s been my driving force.

“Initially I wanted to be a personal trainer and dancer, which is what I did until the age of 21.”

But then the dreams went into overdrive.

“I decided to do my own website in 2007 and went to an adult convention in Birmingham,” she says.

“While I was there I got a job modelling evening gowns,” and her stunning looks attracted the attentions of people who wanted her to do more than model.

“Some producers approached me from a film company and I suppose I always thought I would end up getting into something like this because I’m unconventional and a bit wild. A few days later I ended up going to the Czech Republic for my first scene.”

Since then her career has gone into overdrive.

Samantha got the chance to go to Los Angeles to make her first film before being signed up my top adult entertainment company Vivid.

“It’s different when you have a contract,” says Samantha, who is becoming one of the biggest names in the industry, “they want to ‘brand’ you and you are the star.

“It was a bit nerve-wracking filming my first scene, in front of 50 people. But once I had found myself in the porn community I knew I belonged there.

“I’m a kind of daredevil, anything that’s extreme I want to do it.

“Although I hadn’t any idea I would end up doing this, when I was younger if I saw strip clubs in a movie I would be fascinated and say I was going to be a stripper.

“I don’t get embarrassed.

“I did have a boob job when I was 18 but I had nothing and went from a 34A to a 34C. That helped me in a confidence way but I have never really been self-conscious.”

She adds: “It takes three days to make a film and, at the end of the day, it’s just a job which I enjoy doing. And I enjoy all the things which come along with it.

“Healthwise I feel safer in the industry than I would in regular life. We all get tested every 25 days for HIV, etc., and the tests are accurate and the results back within a week.”

Even Samantha’s mum, who lives in Standish Lower Ground, is delighted with her daughter’s newfound success: “My mum and stepdad can see what I can see,” she admits. “I didn’t do it half-heartedly, I set myself a goal and went for it and I’m on top of my game in the industry. They are happy and kind of proud because it’s what I want.

“I have an amazing life travelling the world. I have been to Australia where I was promoting a film; I have danced in top night clubs in New York, I have just come back from Miami...I get to go all over.”

But not everyone’s impressed.

Samantha confesses: “My dad isn’t happy but he loves me regardless.

“We have a really good friendship and, while he doesn’t disown me because of what I have chosen to do for a living, in an ideal world he would have me doing something different... like manicuring nails or working for Tesco,” she smiles.

“And I do love what I’m doing and I love it here, where it’s hot and I can enjoy life when the sun shines.”

When she isn’t filming, Samantha spends her time dancing, doing photoshoots or promoting, and creating a life away from the industry which is set to make her a star.

“I decided to pull myself away from the porn world,” she admits candidly.

“When I first came here I did have a friendship with a guy who was in the industry but I decided I wanted to have a separate life too. When the cameras are rolling I’m Nikki Jayne, but when filming stops I’m Samantha Haywood, not some wild crazy party animal.

“I have real goals and aspirations.

“I want to get into buying property and investing, developing my website and looking at going into production too eventually.

“I want to get into TV documentaries, interactive computer games and I want to write a book. I believe I’m going to be massive because I believe in myself. I never used to but now I have come this far and I can really see it.

“I’ve just driven past Sunset Boulevard and there was this red carpet event going on and because it’s there it makes it all seem possible.

“I see myself as a millionaire one day without a shadow of a doubt. But it’s not just about money – I drive a horrible car right now because it keeps me humble and I want to save my money and invest. It’s security.”

And that seems to be what Samantha is mainly about.

“I really want to get married and have children one day and I want to make sure I have enough money to look after them. If you don’t look after yourself and your family no-one else will.

“I want my children to go to ballet and football and do lots of hobbies they love. That’s my long term goal. I like a woman who’s gone out there and explored life but turned it around. I have got a lot to prove. I wouldn’t want to fail. What I have done is extreme so I have to make something positive come out at the end.”
